One remarkable feature of Golden Labyrinth is its location.

  • Atop a high hill in the East Bay Regional Parks District Carquinez Strait Regional Shoreline park the site offers sweeping 360 degree views of Mount Diablo, Mount Tamalpais, the Carquinez Straits, Suisun Bay, and more. Very few labyrinths offer distance viewing.
  • Relative isolation makes it somewhat difficult to reach, so it has very few visitors. This makes the hiker feel special for having been there.
  • At its center is the US Coast and Geodetic Survey mark “Martinez”, making the installation historically and geographically significant (see Design).

See the Directions page for how to get there.
