This project has yielded all sorts of unforeseen consequences, all of them marvelous. Connecting with unknown neighbors was one of them.

In September of 2023 I received an email from a couple through this website. Jason and Cami had been hiking up in the hills for years and even visited the US Geodetic Survey marker that is now at the labyrinth center. They were thrilled and inspired to discover the labyrinth and described it as “magical”.

Their curiosity led them to look at Google Maps, where they found they could upload photos of the location. Jason uploaded a pic of his wife, Cami, walking the circles. The Maps entry also links to this site so they reached out. We emailed back and forth for a few days and I saw the photo of her on Google Maps.

The next weekend my better half and I were pulling up to my house downtown and I saw a couple walking. Recognizing Cami from their uploaded photo, I called out. It turned out that the couple that I had been emailing with were neighbors who lived only a few blocks away. New friends! It was the beginning of a beautiful and fun-filled friendship that continues to this day! We often meet for Solstice and Equinox hikes up to the Labyrinth and linger downtown for food and drinks afterwards! Our circle of friends is growing as more and more people from varied walks of life join together to hike and dance and laugh together at the top of the hill, surrounded by the clouds, sunsets and much good cheer!
